Beautiful scenery, fresh air and a range of activities are on offer here in Val Gardena. Many beautiful walks start from right outside the chalet, with the Col Raiser gondola close by to take you up high for the most panoramic hikes. If you are looking for activities for the kids, the large indoor and outdoor pool in nearby Ortisei offers fun for all with water slide, jet pool and various other pools. There is also a jungle park in Ortisei and another in Colfosco for safe tree top adventures. For teenagers and those who like a challenge, 'Via Ferrata' has to be tried and of course climbing on the world famous facades of the Dolomites with an instructor is an option for the braver ones. There are no end of cycling / mountain bike excursions which can be done with a regular bike or an electric bike if you are not all that fit. Nearby there is both a mini golf course and a pitch and put course. On top of all this our guests can participate for free in all the Val Gardena Active activities (please see link for further information).
Situated in the north east of Italy, the area has an interesting cultural mix, with a combination of Italian, Austrian and Ladin influence. The landscape and building style is more similar to Austria whilst, the cuisine and friendliness comes from the Italian side. As for the skiing, well it is just unbeatable. Here is just a little information about the area for those who have not been before. The Super Ski Dolomiti area, totals 1200km of prepared slopes, more than 500 of which can be skied from Selva without taking a single bus! The vast majority of the lifts are latest generation 4 - 8 seater chair lifts (a few even heated) or bubble lifts. The valley boasts 150 km of cross country skiing tracks and lots of walks can be done from right outside the chalet door into this stunning area. The Dolomites can also proudly state that on average there is sunshine on 8 days out of 10!
